Welcome to my fifth investor update.
Sorry this update is late—my girlfriend wife was upset slightly annoyed because I accidentally left the toilet seat up.
Oh yeah, we got married. And, no I did not take Lauren’s last name.
Or did I? Read and find out…

To recap: In 2023, I created an investor update to share what’s going on in my life (for entertainment purposes only). As you all know, I don’t like social media (except for LinkedIn, but that’s another story).
If you land on this list, it means you’ve made a personal investment in me (and you’ve impacted my life). As a thank you, here’s an authentic snapshot into the last few months.
Ground Rules: Max 1 email per quarter. Reply with feedback. Unsubscribe if you want. Text me if you resonate. Old posts linked at the bottom.
Hello, this my wife.
Introducing Lauren Feitzinger & Chris Crump!
We got married October 12, 2024 at Bel-Air Bay Club in Pacific Palisades, CA.
It was incredible. Lauren (a recovering Consultant at Bain) is by far the best person to plan a wedding. So when our wedding planner suddenly flaked, we thought about hiring an overseas wedding planner through Anavah Talent Lauren picked up the slack immediately.
For the rehearsal dinner, I hired McKinsey to create a 20-page diligence deck on the pending merger.
And boy did they dig up some good info…
2024 was the craziest year of my life.
At times, it felt like a giant to-do list that never got shorter.
So many major life events happened this year:
Leaving Austin (and Texas)
Moving to a totally new place
Getting married to my best friend
Integrating into new community at Kellogg
Becoming the sole financial provider for our family
Employing over 25+ people (and placing dozens more with clients)
As someone with a ‘control idol,’ I wanted to make sure every milestone went well.
But, I was never in control to begin with.
I felt a lot of fear this year—so many What If’s.
But, God taught me to change the What If’s to Even If’s.
What if I make no friends in Evanston? → Even if you feel lonely, God will never leave you nor forsake you.
What if something goes wrong at our wedding? → Even if challenges arise, God gave you a wonderful wife. What more could you want?
What if Anavah Talent fails? → Even if you lose everything, remember that God feeds the birds of the air. How much greater are you?
I know God stacked all of these life events in one season for a specific reason—to prove that I was never in control to begin with.
Update: I have no idea how to do anything.
My number one prayer this season was for wisdom.
I woke up one day in early 2024 and realized I have no idea how to do anything.
How do I be a husband?
How do I run a business?
How do I manage a team?
How do I make new friends?
Where is the instruction manual again? I think I missed the study guide for life.
So, I prayed for wisdom. And, read a lot of the Old Testament.
It turns out, if you:
Have a large to-do list
Feel like you aren’t in control
And, many people depend on you for survival
You actually have a lot in common with the Old Testament Jewish Kings.
By studying them, I realized something: Knowledge is a commodity (especially with AI). The real limiting factor is wisdom, which I believe is given to us by God.
We don’t need any more knowledge. We need more wisdom (and strength).
And, boy did I need some wisdom this year….
Making big moves. Congratulations on all that's happening and all that's ahead, brother!
incredible! love you brother and congratulations.
